Tips for a photo that passes

  • Plain white wallStand about 1 m in front of it so there are no shadows behind you.
  • Ask a friend to snapThe photo guidelines advise against selfies. Hold the phone at eye level, about 1.5 m away.
  • Soft, even lightFace a window. Avoid flash, overhead spotlights and harsh sun.
  • Straight face, ears to shouldersLook at the lens, mouth closed, and leave space above your head and your shoulders in frame.
  • No beauty modeEdited photos may be rejected, so turn off filters and beauty mode.
